For city dwellers like us, the lack of interaction with the outdoors has been making us feel more isolated and anxious. It will be a while before we can safely travel again, but we don’t have to go far away to interact with our natural environment.
Sometimes all that it requires of us is to stop and pay attention. Listen to the birds sing, feel the breeze, and look for the small pockets of green spaces we have left in the city. When we take the time to notice and know their names, it becomes easier to understand why we must protect and nurture them. Not all of us have had the privilege to grow up outside, but it’s never too late for us to start.
